April Wood, Family Nurse Practitioner, is a graduate of Middle Georgia University and Walden University. She is a Certified Emergency Nurse and a certified Trauma Nursing Core Course and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course instructor. Before joining Oconee Valley Healthcare, April worked at Coliseum and Fairview Park Hospitals and Dr. Soos Pediatrics. Her interests in the field include emergency care, pediatrics, and teaching. She was awarded Employee of the Year at Fairview Park Hospital.
April is married to her husband Shawn and has 3 children (Ethan, David, and Shawna). In her free time she volunteers at various churches and enjoys boating, kayaking, reading, and Broadway plays.
